Verbumprogram was an art group consisting of Ratomir Kulić and Vladimir Mattioni. They claim they are “more than an individual and less than a group”; they are located “before history and after art”. It isn’t easy to categorize the work of the Verbumprogram. Still, they are placed in the context of New Art Practice, conceptual art, dematerialization of the work of art and new geometry.
As an artistic couple, Verbumprogram Kulić and Mattioni have been active since 1974. Fields of creative activity are extended media, graphics, sculpture, theory of visual arts.
Ratomir Kulić (Ruma, 1948) graduated from the Department of Art History at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. Since the 1960s, he has been interested in poetry and language, and in the late 1960s, he examined the processes of mental perception.
Vladimir Mattioni (Ruma, 1943 – Zagreb, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. During the 1960s, he became interested in stage solutions and design, and in the late 1960s, he switched to the medium of film.
